Daniel’s Catholic School Speech

What is it like to be part of a Catholic School?

Being part of a Catholic School is not only being a member of a school but is also being part of a community, which includes St. Michaels Church Parish.

The teachers at St. Michaels are dedicated and not only teach you academically, but also provide a quality Religious Education Program.

I have never found school to be boring because we have a great library, up-to-date technology and so many different sports we can participate in if we want to.

St. Michaels realises we are all different and all have different strengths , but encourages each of us to reach our full potential.

I am glad my parents decided to send me to a Catholic School.

Konrad’s Catholic School Speech

Good afternoon teachers and students, as you all know, we belong to a catholic school. But what good will being in one if it doesn’t mean anything to you. So if I were to say I was from a catholic what would be the first thing to pop into your mind. Well, the first thing for me to think of would be Jesus and how he suffered for us. Not only that, but what does it mean to be in a catholic school. Well to me it’s not only learning the usual but learning something other schools don’t learn about and that is Jesus and God. Thankyou for listening to what being at a catholic school means to me.  By: Konrad

Young Leaders Convention

Download:

On Tuesday the 6th March 2007 the school leadership team went to the Young Leaders Convention at Homebush. We listened to a number of speakers who shared with us the qualities of a leader and many other stories.
Mike Munro

Mike Munro was the second speaker of the day. He shared with us his history including his family, education, home and friends. He shared with us that his family life wasn’t that good. He was brought up running away from his father every two years, with an alcoholic mother and later trying to become a news reporter. Mike Munro is now a famous journalist for Channel 9 News. His advice was “NEVER GIVE UP”.

Katrina Webb

Katrina Webb was Para Olympian, she has cerebral palsy She was the 3rd speaker of the day and she explained to us to never give up even if you have a disability or if you’re not confident. She reminded us to have a go. She also told us that all people have certain things about themselves they don’t like. Her advise was ‘Accept it and get on with it’.
Matthew Reilly

Matthew Reilly was a great writer and producer who never gave up his dreams. He kept moving forward and never stopped. He encouraged himself to keep going even though he had been rejected by many companies. He used his skills and had confidence. He never gave up. He is now living his dreams as being a producer of a series contest. He began selling books with 4 companies, rejected twice and now has 2 companies battling over him. His advice was to ‘Always bounce back from rejection and keep moving forward’.

We had a great time learning about leadership from these people. We all learnt a lot and recorded the information in a booklet. We hope you enjoy this information we shared with you.

Thank you
